7 Days to Die

7 Days to Die begins with an epidemic that has turned cities into ruins and people into hungry walking dead. The player appears in the open world with almost no property and quickly realizes that looting, crafting and marksmanship are more important than courage here. Experience is awarded for levels, and death takes away the accumulated amount, so unnecessary risk on the streets is not welcome. The main rule of local life is the calendar: every seventh night brings a blood moon, when a real horde comes to the base. Therefore, the house is not built for beauty, but as a fortress: walls, spikes, ditches and turrets, behind which you can sit until the morning. Electricity and water are provided by hand, but generators and solar panels require fuel and maintenance. There are more than five hundred recipes in the game: this includes car modifications, armor and weapon upgrades, tools, medicines and cooking. It’s easier to cook food at home, and it doesn’t hurt to lock the house itself, otherwise the zombies will decide that the supplies now belong to them. Transport is assembled and repaired from spare parts, and an assembled motorcycle or bicycle significantly speeds up travel. Leveling up follows an RPG scheme: points are invested in strength, endurance, crafting and skills such as silent movement. The world is divided into biomes with different weather and danger, and abandoned laboratories and traders add their own story to survival. Servers accept companies of up to eight people, which allows responsibilities to be divided between builders, miners and defenders. For those who like to build a defense and prepare for troubles in advance, such a week flies by unnoticed.
