Undertale

Undertale tells about a world where there was a war between people and monsters: the people won and the defeated were locked in a dungeon. The barrier was held by seven magicians, but one day a child got there, for whom you will play. The barrier left by the magicians explains the main rule: you can get out only after going all the way to the end. The underground world consists of corners familiar to everyone: ruins, a snowy forest, a waterfall and a laboratory where monsters with their own habits live. Dialogues and small scenes gradually turn the journey into a conversation about fear, loneliness and mistrust, and some of the stories are revealed only with certain behavior. Almost every creature in the dungeon has a name and character, and conversations with them are sometimes more important than battles. The battles here are unusual: instead of the usual attacks, you have to dodge projectiles in a separate window, and the enemy can be spared. The ending, set of events and lines of characters, including Sans and Papyrus, depend on whether the player kills or negotiates. The combat system is built on attention: being hit by a projectile takes away your health, and pressing the action button at the right time changes the outcome of the meeting. Pixelated images and simple music hide a very dense work with humor and drama, and secrets like special paths have been found for years. Changing your decision halfway through can ruin the hero's reputation, and the game honestly remembers this. Sound and music emphasize the mood better than words, and simple melodies remain in the memory longer than expensive projects. For players who love choice stories and quaint coziness, this trip down is worth every hour.
