Description
Tunguska: The Visitation begins with a meteorite falling in the Tunguska region, after which the local residents cease to be human. An alien body creates a special Zone, and the player’s main task is to survive there and figure out what’s going on.
The game is made as an action game with a top-down view: shootings, searching for supplies, exploring dangerous areas. Ammo needs to be saved, and mutants differ in behavior, so it doesn’t always make sense to engage in battle. There are also tasks from survivors, which provide a picture of what is happening.
The atmosphere is gloomy and saturated with anxiety: villages, forests, abandoned buildings, rare meetings with people. In addition to the main line, there are many side quests and finds that reveal the fate of the Zone.
It is also worth noting that as the game progresses, you come across recordings and eyewitness accounts that form a picture of the first days after the disaster. In addition to mutants, there are also people: survivors, looters, scientists, and you can come to an agreement or quarrel with them. Weapons and supplies have to be saved, so the style of play tends to be cautious. The atmosphere is based on the details: empty houses, abandoned cars, the silence of the forest. It is also worth noting that the game also contains random events on the roads that require a quick solution. The design is modest but atmospheric, and the sound adds anxiety even in calm scenes.
The project was made by a small team and is outwardly modest, but attentive to detail. For those who love creepy stories about the Zone and don't mind walking through dangerous places, the Tunguska: The Visitation is suitable.
