They Are Billions is a strategy set in a steampunk world that has experienced a disaster. A colony of survivors builds a base surrounded by hordes of infected. The city occupies a plateau, and around there are lands where the infected are found. You can only expand with weapons in your hands. Intelligence opens up the map gradually, and with it comes new threats. Story maps are more complex than free mode and require calculation. During the day there is construction going on: walls, turrets, houses and warehouses. The crowds come at night, and the fortifications determine whether the settlement will survive. Sawmills, quarries and farms provide materials, and warehouses store surplus. All buildings require electricity. Drones and patrols monitor the outskirts of the city. Warehouses are filling up and overcrowding is slowing down operations. Food and water are constantly being used up. The economy is based on resources and workers, and everything needs energy. Scouts find new lands where they can establish settlements. The walls are placed in several lines, and the turrets are distributed across sectors. Every breach costs lives. Fortifications require repairs after each wave. Arrows and ballistas are placed on towers of different heights. The campaign presents map-based challenges, while the survival mode tests your patience. Later, cards were added to the game and the balance was corrected. The hero commander gains levels and skills, and units are divided by type. Squads go beyond the walls for resources and finds. The infected run faster towards light and noise. For those who like defense against crowds, this wasteland is suitable. Updates added maps and changes, and the community argued about the difficulty. Patches governed the economy and behavior of the infected. The difficulty is adjusted before the start of the game.
