The Pioneers: Surviving Desolation is a space colony simulator where people survive on the station. The player builds and equips a base, manages a crew, and explores the surface of Io, Jupiter's inner moon. Events move to 2084, when the Io-1 station begins to develop new territories. Magnetic storms damage the station's equipment. The wreckage is being disassembled into parts. During the passage you have to deal with extreme temperature changes and magnetic storms. Intense volcanic and seismic activity also interferes with work. It is necessary to settle down on the surface of the satellite in such a way that the base becomes self-sufficient, and specialists are obliged to survive and work together for the common good. Volcanic ash clogs the filters. The modules are placed end to end, forming corridors. The main task is the development of the station. At the beginning, three characters out of fifteen are available, and you have to adapt to the strengths and weaknesses of each employee. Combinations of specialists are selected manually, otherwise the difficulties in exploring the moon will be insurmountable. Workers get tired and require rest. Expeditions to the outside bring back rock samples. Ship wrecks are used for recycling. Methods for producing materials and food are developed independently, and the station houses residential modules, engineering systems, equipment and other elements, without which life in unfavorable conditions is impossible.
