Subnautica

Subnautica begins with a crash: the ship falls into the ocean of an alien planet, and the hero gets out of the burning capsule with one thought - to survive. There is water all around up to the horizon, and the only way is down, to the bottom, where the clues to what happened are hidden. Oxygen and pressure limit diving, so prepare for each descent in advance by checking cylinders and equipment. The shallow waters look welcoming: sunlight, corals, schools of fish from which they prepare food and water. The deeper you go, the darker and more disturbing the landscapes become, and at some point you have to build an underwater base in order to have a place to rest and supplies. Water and food are obtained from improvised means: a desalination plant, fishing and vegetable gardens cover basic needs with almost no running around. The technology takes exploration to a new level: small submarines, underwater stations and a heavy suit allow you to get to places where you cannot reach with regular equipment. But the large inhabitants of the ocean are not happy with guests, and some of them are capable of destroying both the vehicle and the driver. Useful plants and materials grow in certain biomes, so over time, memory itself tells you where to go for the resource. In addition to survival, there is a story here: signals, debris, alien buildings and strange devices gradually form a picture of an ancient conflict. Building bases, farms and gardens provide a personal endeavor that you want to return to after every outing. Modular corridors connect rooms to each other, and the layout of the base becomes its own puzzle about where to place the entrance. For those players who like to explore the unknown and are ready to panic from someone else's breath behind them, this ocean will be remembered for a long time.
