Description
Feed and Grow: Fish is a simulator in which the player starts as a tiny fish and gradually turns into a thunderstorm in a pond. The world around is alive: flocks of little things, dangerous predators, calm depths and shallow waters.
Growth comes from what you eat, and along with size, new opportunities appear: swim faster, bite more painfully, survive a blow. There is a set of skills that develops as you gain experience. In addition to the single player game, there are modes for several participants, where you can compete and play together.
The design is deliberately simple, but the water, light and behavior of the flocks are conveyed convincingly. Some of the creatures and maps were added by the developers after the game was released.
Different types of fish differ in speed, size and behavior, so it’s best to start small. Shelters and seaweed help to hide, and open water is dangerous for a weak creature. In addition to solo swimming, there are modes where participants hunt together. Updates added creatures and maps, so familiar bodies of water changed over time. Not everyone can be eaten: large prey requires a smaller bite and patience. Difficulty settings affect the behavior of predators, so you can choose the conditions to suit you. In addition to fish, there are plenty of small creatures in reservoirs that grow faster. The community supports the project with sets of fish and cards. In addition to growth, there are survival tasks, where it is important not to fall into the mouth of a large predator. New bodies of water are gradually opening up.
For anyone who wants a calm, almost meditative activity with the excitement of hunting, the project is suitable.
