Kayak Extreme

Kayak Extreme is a kayaking simulator where the player becomes an athlete engaged in a dangerous sport. The routes pass along the mountain rivers of the Alps, the waters of Africa and city canals: each place has a different topography and the nature of the flow. Along the descent there are rapids, rocks and narrow passages that must be passed in a limited time. Control is based on working with the oars and maintaining balance: an unsuccessful stroke turns the boat around, and a collision with a stone throws it out of the stream. Because of this, the level of difficulty increases naturally - first you go through simple sections, then you take on the rough ones. The levels are designed in an arcade style, with hints and checkpoints, making the game friendly to beginners. The weather and lighting change, and the views of the gorges and waterfalls are pleasant to look at even in between races. It’s also worth noting that the game includes training and free rafting: you can walk the route calmly and remember the obstacles before racing against time. Different locations differ in relief and flow speed, which makes it difficult to get used to one tactic. Enough has been done for an arcade about this sport. The project is rare on the topic: river rafting almost never gets into games.
