Losing will hurt your status, and winning will open up access to better cars and parts. Tuning includes not only appearance, but also parameters that affect the behavior of the car. Races vary in type: sprint, ring, drift and team competition. A separate mechanic is betting: before the race, you can agree on what the participants are playing for, and it’s quite possible to lose your favorite car here. This adds a tension that many arcade games lack. It is also worth noting that the game has a team building mode: the player hires racers, buys them cars and participates in team tournaments. This adds a management layer to your career that most arcade games don't have. For the mid-2000s, this was a notable idea that is still rare. Visually, the game conveys the era of the mid-2000s: neon, tuning, music of that time. For street racing nostalgia, the Juiced works well, and its command system is still rare.
