Description

Hearts of Iron 4 is a global strategy game about the Second World War, where the country is not governed by the army on the map, but by decisions about industry, diplomacy and supply. The focus tree of individual states has been completely reworked, so the path to war for each power looks different. Industry requires planning: factories, resources and transport are tied to regions, and rebuilding on the fly is expensive. The two scenarios differ in dates: in 1936, the Second Italo-Ethiopian War and the Spanish Civil War begin, and in 1939, the Japanese invasion of China is already in full swing and a world conflict is unfolding. They offer to play for Italy, Ethiopia, Spain, Japan, China and other states with their own political line. Intelligence and espionage provide information about other people's plans, and a timely signed pact sometimes saves you from a war on two fronts. Focuses provide bonuses, some of which are mutually exclusive, so careful choice determines the entire campaign. Ideology determines the side: neutrality, democracy, communism or fascism lead to different allies and different development scenarios. Combat operations require preparation: divisions are assembled according to templates, fronts are distributed, and logistics and fuel are as important as the number of tanks. Mods and additions have long expanded the map and countries, and the community continues to rewrite the balance for itself. Aviation, navy and submarines live by their own rules, so maritime transport often determines the outcome of a campaign. For those players who love staff work and long plans, one campaign will be enough for months.
