Freeman: Guerrilla Warfare

Freeman: Guerrilla Warfare shows a planet divided between bandit and military factions. The player becomes the head of one of the factions and starts with almost empty warehouses. You will have to look for sources of income and recruit fighters. The goal is simple and cruel - to subjugate the whole world. The units are recruited from recruits and mercenaries. Two layers coexist here: first-person battles and full-fledged strategy. Funds are spent on mercenaries, attacks on cities and seizure of territories. Before each battle, it is worth thinking over a plan and distributing subordinates into positions. You will have to fight for one of them. Captured cities bring taxes and reinforcements. Heavy weapons require money and storage. The focus is on realism. You won't be able to empty an entire clip into a crowd of enemies - the ammo runs out quickly, and the enemy doesn't stand still. Artificial intelligence adapts to the situation, bypasses fortifications and changes formations. Victory is brought by the training of fighters and a well-thought-out plan of battle, and not by numerical superiority. The machine gunners hold the streets while the others advance. Enemy patrols prowl the roads. Intelligence reports on the movements of foreign troops. Equipment decides a lot: weak weapons and leaky armor nullify any cunning. Money for equipment comes from trade and captured cities. Each battle leaves a mark in the form of losses and trophies. Gradually, the disparate squad turns into a force capable of dictating conditions. Medicines are needed after each assault. This game is suitable for anyone who wants to build an army from scratch.
