Expeditions: Viking

Expeditions: Viking allows you to return from a trip alive, create unique characters and upgrade them throughout the game. When the hero set off for the English islands, chaos, hunger and darkness reigned in his native village. People had nothing to eat, and they went south. Most of the mature and experienced Vikings built a ship and called the leader to go to the west for riches and fertile lands. The companions remember the leader's decisions. The forge changes the equipment of the entire squad. The role-playing strategy tells a short story about several Vikings who landed on the shores of England to get to know the neighboring state better. They did not want war, but in 790 everything turned against them: the weather, the animals and the Saxons. To go to other shores, you have to gather warriors, loyal housecarls, and build a ship. Raids on monasteries bring silver. Winter interferes with travel and trade. The leader initially has skills and characteristics, so it is up to the player to decide how to gain trust and respect. You can skillfully trade and wait for the moment, the weather and the season to sell meat, wood and stone, or you can take everything with an ax and sword. Peace treaties provide a reprieve from fighting. Reputation provides access to new settlements. Houses are being built, a small detachment is being upgraded, and they will have to settle down on the new islands of England, where most of the tribes are not yet familiar with forging iron. Even one spoken word creates a portrait of a hero. Wounds are treated with herbs and rest. Each assignment is resolved by force or word. Anyone who loves harsh northern stories will find this game suitable.
