Dead Cells

Dead Cells is a roguelike platformer with Metroidvania elements, where the hero repeatedly escapes from the maze of the castle. Levels are generated anew, monsters change, and after each death the path begins again. Unlocked skills allow you to return to old areas and get to caches that were previously inaccessible. This is how a feeling of growth is built: the route ceases to be insurmountable. The battles are fast and spectacular: rolls, jumps and weapon combos form a tight rhythm, and the enemies do not forgive pauses. Cells dropped by enemies are spent on mutations and upgrades, making each attempt make the next one a little easier. Bosses require you to learn moves, and between them you come across elite opponents with rewards for killing. Gradually, new routes and abilities open up: double jump, dash and wall running allow you to get to areas closed during the first run. Weapons are divided by type, and the style depends on the combination - from bows and traps to heavy swords. There are daily challenges and races with restrictions, where the composition of the weapons is set in advance. The expansions added new areas, bosses, and difficulty levels where enemies become much tougher. The community has been competing in speed and collecting records for a long time. Updates have added new levels and difficulty settings, and the mod community has expanded the set endlessly. In addition to the castle, there are separate areas like the sewers and the clock tower, and each adds new enemies. Open doors and hidden passages encourage exploration, although danger rewards curiosity. Anyone who loves dynamic battles and is not afraid to start over will not get bored with this tower.
