Darkest Dungeon

Darkest Dungeon is a side-scrolling turn-based strategy game with a dark style and roguelike elements. A squad of heroes descends under the family mansion, where the walls remember much more unpleasant things than skeletons. There are many characters, and they all differ in character, techniques and patience. Each battle is built on positions and the order of moves, so victory is brought not by strength, but by precise calculation. The positions of the front and rear matter: the shooters strike from the depths, and the heavy fighters hold the front row. Traveling between rooms takes up a torch and supplies, so they take only as much as they can carry into the dungeon. The city serves as a base: they improve weapons, treat heroes, hire new fighters and relieve tension in the tavern. Leveling up unlocks techniques, and failures result in weeks of rest and treatment. Leveling up, equipment and camp stops create the feeling of a long siege, where the death of a soldier is taken calmly: new ones will come to replace him. Expansions have added new regions and bosses, and the community has long been arguing about the best combinations. The difficulty grows along with the depth: the further the squad descends, the angrier the enemies and the more terrible the price of a mistake. The game honestly warns about the risk, but no one forces you to turn back, and this is its main attraction. This mansion gives dozens of hours to everyone who is not afraid of dark colors and constant risk.
