Dark Elf

Dark Elf is a role-playing game with elements of an anime novel, the material of which is addressed to adults. The design is hand-drawn, and the story is presented in chapters with forks. In addition to dialogue, there is simple character development and quests that advance the plot, and decisions affect the available scenes. There is a lot of explicit content here, and this is stated directly, so the project should be assessed within this framework. Saves cost frequently, and the gallery makes it easy to return to forks. We should also say something about the presentation: the story is divided into chapters, and decisions affect the available content. The material is intended for adults, and this is stated explicitly. In addition to dialogues, there are tasks and character development, and decisions open up new scenes. The design is hand-drawn, the interface is minimal, saving costs are frequent. The project is niche and sticks to its theme, so it should be assessed within this framework. The duration is moderate: it is completed in parts, and different paths open up new scenes and episodes that were not present in the first run. The story is told in chapters, and between them you can see how the hero’s attitude to what is happening changes. The design and music work to enhance the mood rather than distract from the text and scenes between chapters. The hero develops as he progresses, and some scenes open only after certain decisions. Saves and a gallery help you return to forks, so it’s convenient to go through the story in parts. The duration is moderate, and it is convenient to complete the story in the evenings. For those who are close to this format, the game provides a clear structure and sufficient volume.
