BadTrip:Survival Horror Shooter

BadTrip:Survival Horror Shooter is a third-person action-adventure game with a dark setting and horror elements. The main character, named Jack, finds himself in a series of terrible events, but the game regularly dilutes the tension with black humor: scary scenes are replaced by absurd dialogues. Battles are fought from a third person perspective: shooting, avoiding attacks, searching for ammunition. It is better not to meet enemies in a crowd, but to clear the space gradually. There are also puzzles where you need to figure out what to do with objects and mechanisms in order to open the path further. The tone of the project is deliberately uneven: the developers play on contrasts, which is why you don’t always get scared, but you also get bored. The locations are different: from abandoned buildings to places where everything looks completely unreal. It is also worth noting that the weapons in the game differ in their rate of fire and destructive power, and you have to save ammunition. Locations change from episode to episode, and this allows the developers to alternate between dark scenes and almost comedic ones. The duration is short: the project is completed in a few evenings and ends clearly. It is also worth noting that the game also contains small puzzles related to mechanisms and objects: sometimes the path is opened not by shooting, but by intelligence. This dilutes the skirmishes and prevents the project from turning into a monotonous shooting gallery. Some of the scenes were shot deliberately ridiculously, and that’s the whole point: the developers weren’t seriously trying to scare. Technically, this is a small indie game with conventional graphics. For those who like stories about dark adventures with jokes, the BadTrip:Survival Horror Shooter provides just such a combination - scary, but not too serious.
