Your Only Move Is HUSTLE

Your Only Move Is HUSTLE is a turn-based action game about duels, where instead of quickly clicking, the player plans every move in advance. Time passes in tiny steps in battle, so opponents always have a moment to think. From the outside, the battle looks like a cartoon storyboard, although it follows the rules of a fighting game. Fights here are similar to a game analysis: the opponents take turns choosing a stance, a strike or an escape, and the outcome is decided not by the speed of the fingers, but by reading someone else’s idea. Jumping, dashing, hitting, blocking and grabbing are available, as well as more complex techniques such as deflecting and sliding. An error in the calculation is immediately visible, but it can be corrected if the next second is correctly constructed. Many connections were invented by players, not by the developer. The arenas are small, but with different levels: somewhere there are platforms, and somewhere the fight takes place on flat ground, and this changes the whole calculation. You can search for opponents online or train against bots, and replays of battles are analyzed like chess games. The editor allows you to change the rules and add your own techniques. Modifications allow you to add characters, techniques and entire sets of rules, and it is convenient to review battle recordings step by step. There is no plot as such: the interest rests on the mechanics themselves and on duels with real people. For many, this was precisely the main advantage of the project. For those who love fighting games, but do not want to depend on reaction speed, this format is suitable. The training is short, but the training sandbox allows you to pose any situation and test ideas without risk.
