UBOAT

UBOAT is a WWII submarine simulator. The game shows the life of a German crew, where every mistake is costly. Each dive begins with an order and ends with a report to the commander. The crew lives according to a schedule, and shifts take place between shifts. Assignments come from the command and change as the war progresses. The boat is controlled from the bridge: diving, course and torpedo tubes require coordination. The team monitors air, fuel and the condition of the mechanisms. Torpedoes, mines and fuel are limited, so the target is selected in advance. Fuel is saved, because refueling at sea is dangerous. Fuel and food are limited, so the route is calculated. The sailors act on their own, but the orders and distribution of responsibilities remain with the commander. Anxiety, injury and illness change people's moods. Depth charges break the hull, and repairs take place right in the compartments. Damage is repaired in compartments under water pressure. Diving and surfacing require time and command.
