Description

Tomb Raider is a restart of the series about the adventures of Lara Croft, which begins with a shipwreck off an unfamiliar island. A young adventurer is captured and left tied up in a cave, from where she gets out on her own, without anyone else's help. Weather and terrain affect plans: a storm knocks out landmarks, and a cliff forces you to look for a way around, so it’s better to look at the map carefully. Then survival begins: the girl needs food, fire and weapons, and the search for the crew turns into exploring the island, where both animals and armed people live. Difficulty is pre-selected and affects prompts, ammo capacity, and enemy behavior. It is possible to pass through enemy camps secretly if you use cover and distract with noise. Combat is based on shelters, a bow and improvised means: arrows can be dipped in fire, an ax helps out in close combat, and experience points are invested in survival and shooting skills. Climbing along rocks and cables takes you to places where it is impossible to get to in a straight line. In addition to the plot, there are survival tasks: hunting deer, collecting herbs and rescuing crew members. Side quests provide insight into the history of the island, including the tombs of the former inhabitants and the ship's crew, whose records are scattered throughout the camps. The multiplayer part added competitive battles to the adventure, but the game is mainly appreciated for its solo adventure. Experience is invested in three branches, and by the end Lara changes both in appearance and in her set of techniques. For anyone who loves stories of survival and becoming a hero, this island offers a full range of challenges.
