The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim came out more than ten years ago and is still attracting new players. The reason is simple: this is a huge world, where every cave and every house has its own story, and the main line has long ceased to be a mandatory program. Without mods, the game also holds up: scale, freedom and plenty of things to do do their job even after years. The player takes on the role of Dovahkiin, a warrior with dragon blood, and finds himself in a country torn by civil war. The dragons have returned, ancient prophecies are coming true, but there is no straightforward passage: you can almost always step aside and go about your business. The political lines of the Nords and Imperials can be followed to the end, or you can abandon them in the middle and go to the mountains. Guilds, cities and villages live on their own: the thieves' trail, the dark brotherhood, the college of magicians and the earl's troops give different tasks and different roles. Leveling up depends on what the player does with his hands: shoots a bow, brews potions, forges swords, or steals from pockets. Blacksmithing, alchemy and enchanting require fees, but a blade forged with your own hands warms the soul. Modifications have become a separate genre: the community has added graphics, houses, companions, magic and whole new lands. This turns the base game into a platform where everyone builds their own version of Skyrim. Dragons remain the main spectacle: they can be found anywhere, and combat with them is rarely calm. Anyone who likes to wander without a goal and find adventures on their own will not get tired of this province.
