Surfing H3O is all about competitive surfing: the player chooses one of the athletes and takes to the waves, where not only the tricks are judged, but also the ability to tie them together. Each hero has his own style and his own strengths, so the approach to the race is different. The wave in the game is not a decoration, but an environment with its own behavior: you need to get on it in time, hold the line and choose the moment to maneuver at the crest. I made a mistake with the calculation - I lost speed and ended up in foam, and the judges reduced the score. But a successful pairing looks beautiful and brings serious points. In addition to individual races, there are tournaments and tests where the conditions change: in some places the waves are small and frequent, in others they are large and rare. You have to change tactics and wait a long time for the right moment - in surfing this is not a disadvantage, but the essence. It is also worth noting that the judge’s points here are calculated based on several parameters: the complexity of the maneuvers, the cleanliness of the execution, and whether the surfer completed the wave to the end. Waves differ in shape, and one thing is beneficial in shallow water, and something completely different in large water. There is also a free skating mode where you can simply try different techniques without the pressure of competition. There is also a training session with detailed explanations: it helps you understand how to read the wave and choose the moment to maneuver before entering the competition. The graphics and animations are poor, the physics are simplified, and by today's standards it looks modest. But for those interested in the subject matter, the Surfing H3O remains one of the few coherent surf simulators of its era.
