Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition places the player in the era of the Crusades, where armies wage war in desert lands. The basis is the castle economy, production management and training of troops for siege battles. Story campaigns show conflicts through the eyes of Richard the Lionheart and Saladin of the Ayyubid dynasty. You will have to confront twenty AI lords, each with their own fortress designs and tactics. Walls require stone and labor. The main task is to build and defend a citadel, while simultaneously trying to capture other people's fortifications. A large amount of fresh content has been added to the original structure: eight units of Bedouin warriors with special properties and four additional computer opponents. The single part is complemented by two historical narratives covering the First, Second and Third Crusades. Archers from the towers fire at the approaching ones. The four Sands of Time challenges offer a chain of related quests to complete alone. The network component has also been expanded: a cooperative path has appeared, where two allies team up against the computer. Direct confrontation supports up to eight people. The market supplies the castle with food. For online interactions, the game includes larger maps and advanced scenario creation options. The visual part has been reworked based on the original artistic materials, and the sound has been re-recorded by the original voice actors.
