Mass Effect 3 sums up the story of Shepard and the entire galaxy: the Reaper fleet is attacking Earth, and the only way to stop them is to gather the support of all intelligent races. That is why most of the game is negotiations, allied missions and conversations with those whom the hero knew from previous parts. Old decisions come back and influence who comes to the rescue. The battles have become more dynamic: the cover and skill system has been redesigned so that battles go faster, and weapons can be customized for different types of enemies. Of particular value are the scenes on the ship: between missions, the crew discusses what is happening, and relationships with crew members develop until the finale. The ending of the game was highly controversial, and is one of the most discussed topics in the history of the genre. Regardless of the attitude towards the ending, the trilogy remains a rarity: few games allowed one hero to be led through three large stories, where the choice accumulated over the years. Separately, it is worth noting that the game has a cooperative online mode: together with other players you have to hold positions and fight off waves of the enemy, which adds durability. Decisions from previous parts return not only in the plot, but also in small things like the fate of familiar characters. This is a fitting conclusion for the trilogy. For those who have followed Shepard from the beginning, the Mass Effect 3 is the end of a story in which almost every decision has weight. For beginners, however, it is better to start with the first parts, otherwise most of the plot will remain incomprehensible.
