Kingdoms Reborn is a city-planning simulator with a full-fledged network game and elements of a card system. The map is generated randomly and is divided into seven biomes, each with its own conditions: somewhere it’s warm and there’s a lot of forest, somewhere it’s cold and sparse. Construction has to be done with an eye to the season: in winter, food consumption increases, and some industries are idle. The deck contains cards that are drawn at the right moment and give bonuses or require decisions - this adds an element of surprise to the usual construction. Residents are growing, demanding goods and work, and with them the load on the economy is growing. The network part allows you to run a city together with other players: you can trade, help each other, or compete for resources. It was for this mode that the project was created, although the single-player game is also full-fledged. Separately, it is worth noting that the cards in the deck do not just give out bonuses: some of them require a choice, and some affect relations with neighbors, because trade and agreements are part of the game. In addition to construction, one has to monitor taxes and the satisfaction of residents: if people do not have enough goods, outflows and unrest begin. In winter, some production facilities are idle, so stocks are made in advance, and not after the fact. The community releases additional cards and cards, which extends the life of the project. For those who like city building with surprises, this set of mechanics works well. The game is leisurely, but requires calculation. Kingdoms Reborn is suitable for those who love urban planning and don’t mind sharing one map with friends.
