Crysis

The Crysis was released in a year when such demands were just beginning to be placed on game graphics, and is still considered one of the technical landmarks of the era. The action takes place on tropical islands, where a special forces team encounters the Korean military, and then something worse. The focus is on the nanosuit, which gives the hero four modes: armor, strength, speed and camouflage. These modes change tactics more than the arsenal: you can sneak up, stand in bursts, jump on rooftops, or throw enemies with your hands. As the game progresses, new types of weapons and attachments become available, and levels allow you to choose your approach - sneaking in secretly or causing a rout with a loud retreat. The middle of the game changes the scenery: closed complexes, icy areas and opponents appear who cannot simply be shot. This splits the game into two parts, and fans are still debating which one is stronger. Separately, it is worth noting that the game has many ways to go through the same section: you can dismantle the building with your hands, fly over it in a vehicle, or sneak through invisibility. Vehicles and turrets add options, and stealth doesn't end in failure when detected. This was a real rarity for action films of that time. For its time, Crysis was not only a demonstration of the capabilities of computers, but also a solid action movie with open areas. Today it is valued as a monument to the era, and at the same time as a good example of how one mechanic can set the style of an entire game.
