Castle Crashers is an arcade action game where players take control of powerful heroes and fight monsters. The squad consists of twenty-five characters, and each has different techniques and appearance. The heroes differ in their techniques and elements: some use fire, others use electricity, and others rely on strength. Pet and weapon levels affect how combat plays out. The plot is simple: the kingdom is in disaster, and four knights set out to restore order. Along the way you have to storm castles, fight bosses and compete with other players. Heroes are upgraded through levels and loot: points are awarded for victories, and new abilities are unlocked for them. Pets support their owners and provide bonuses that you can show off to your friends. You can play alone, but it's more fun with two or four people, especially when it comes to bosses. The battles take place in real time with an emphasis on combos, magic and weapons. Leveling up unlocks new techniques, and together with friends the game turns into a noisy brawl behind the screen. The levels alternate between battles, races and funny tasks, and the humor is based on parody and ridiculous situations. Updates have added characters and modes, and the community still gathers for joint playthroughs. Battles take place in arenas and castles, and along the way bosses appear with their own phases. Co-op allows four players to complete the campaign, and then the battles turn into a real dump. For those who love arcade games and laughter in the company, this fight is suitable.
