Rhythm Doctor is an indie game where you need to treat patients to the beat of music, because music here has healing properties. The hospital staff consists of doctors with their own characters, and part of the plot is presented between levels. Patients come to the hospital with different cases, and the doctor treats them himself. The body of each patient makes itself felt in an unusual way: the theory of music is responsible for his ailments. Polyrhythms, hemiols, atonality and syncopation turn into tasks for rhythm. The compositions are written in such a way that the rhythm can be heard even without backlighting, and the tips help at first. Errors in rhythm are not penalized, but a clean pass is considered a special skill. Control comes down to one button, but that's enough: hitting the right beat starts the treatment. Mistakes are not strictly punished, but the rhythm forces you to listen to the melody. Some levels are more difficult than others and require re-listening to the melody. The chapters end with stories explaining how the fates of the patients turned out. Each level is a separate story with its own character, and as the campaign progresses, the number of buttons and conventions increases. A level editor and modifications expand the game. The game grew from a small project and received community support through the editor. You can create levels yourself, and the built-in editor allows you to share your work. For those who love music and unusual ideas, this hospital is suitable. The sequels were released in separate chapters, but the music remains the main advantage. Some of the tracks were written specifically for the game and are listened to separately.
