Gunner, HEAT, PC!

Gunner, HEAT, PC! is a tank simulator dedicated to the battles of equipment during the Cold War. The bet is placed on the behavior of the vehicle: weight, armor, sights and shells are taken into account seriously, and each type of armored vehicle requires its own approach. The player takes the place of a gunner or commander and does his part of the job: spot the target, determine the type, select the type of projectile and hit the weak spot. An error in judging the distance or the wrong ammunition results in a ricochet, and a miss results in a return shot, which usually ends badly. There are scenarios and battles where the sides are opposed by equipment from different years, so the tasks are different: in some places it’s enough to hit, in others you need to look for a weak zone. Individual missions are designed to control an entire platoon. It’s also worth noting that the game also includes platoon management tasks: in addition to shooting, you have to give orders and monitor the situation. In addition, the condition of the vehicle is taken into account: damage affects the ride and visibility. There are also realism settings, so you can loosen the severity if it bothers you. The game is designed for a small circle of players, but it gives them exactly what the arcades lack. For those interested in armored vehicles, this is a rare opportunity to see the battle from the inside. It is also worth noting that the game also has training missions that explain the operation of the sight and the types of projectiles. The game is complex and requires patience and interest in the topic. For those who value precision and are uncomfortable with unnecessary simplifications, the Gunner, HEAT, PC! provides a rare depth of detail.
